~ It was never the same again, my body was different, I looked different~
From 4 December 2020 to 2 February 2021, I had another 3 cycles of chemotherapy, repeating the same thing of what I did during the first cycle. I visited Dr Ma every week; she monitored my progress and checked my conditions through blood work. The one big achievement during this time was my getting used to needle work as I had to do blood test at least once a week at Dr. Ma’s clinic. I became so well adapted that I do not scream any more.
Side Effects
I was getting used to appetite loss. It came back towards the end of each cycle, not quite as much as I used to eat but I was over-eating before.
I did not have diarrhea or constipation, nor did I have nauseas. My liver and kidney functions seemed fine as reflected from the blood test.
There cannot be nothing, of course. After all, I have been injected with highly poisonous chemicals and swallowed a lot of oral drugs.
I Looked Dull
Just like Dr Ma told me before the chemotherapy started, I did not loose hairs. Though I felt my hairs got thinner. Also, I looked dull. The skin color of my hands turned darker especially my palm and at the rim of the nails, both hands and feet. The skin on my fingertips were peeling off. My tongue also turned a bit darker, yuck.
This was because toxins were absorbed by my body. They all started to show after the 3rd cycle and continued for at least another 6 months before my palms looked normal again. As of today, I am detoxing my body through Chinese medicine, acupuncture, lymphatic drainage, bio-resonance, taking supplements and monitoring my diet.
Antagonistic Pain
This one was really bad, my hand experienced sharp pain when the chemo drug was dripping through it into my blood vein. I could totally feel the toxin flooding into my body. I felt I was killing myself. The pain was like my hand was bitten by millions of bugs. I felt that my vein was burning inside. The nurse covered my hand with a warm pad, I felt slightly less painful. However, the warm pad could not maintain a constant temperature, the pain basically followed me for 4 long hours. When the IV was completed, I was exhausted by the pain.
The following days my hands had to stay away from cold surface to not to get the sharp electric shock like feeling. I could not open the fridge, wash my hands with cold water or touch metal frames. It was not easy especially because it was Winter time in December/January. Sometimes when the temperature was low, the cold air was sufficient to give my hand the electric shock. I had to wear gloves sometimes.
I went through this pain 4 times. Except for the first cycle, each time when I was on my way to Dr. Ma’s clinic, I could not help but just thinking I was sending myself to a big torture. I really wished I didn’t have to take the IV because of this horrible pain.
Belly Pain
Between the third and the fourth cycle, I had very bad belly pain. My gut was constantly contracting, sometimes it was severe. The contraction was non-stop throughout the day and during the night at an interval of roughly every couple of hours. When it happened, I had to go to toilet immediately. Slime came out, sometimes with blood in it but in most cases it was clear slime, small quantity.
This carried on for almost two weeks. It was another exhausting moment. Other than visiting Dr. Ma and Cecilia, I had to stay home because of the non-stop pain and I had to be close to the toilet. The pain eventually stopped just before the 4th cycle was about to start. There was no treatment or medication to the pain. It just stopped gradually.
It is still a misery. I could not tell what it was, neither Dr. Ma or Cecilia was sure about what happened. Dr. Ma considered it possibly the waste and toxin coming out after the chemo drugs killed the tumor cells. So I took it as a good sign as it seemed to say that my tumor was shrinking and its by product waste was coming out of my body. Luckily I did not have severe bleeding, this helped give me a calm mental status when going through the pain.
